French provincial pottery (late 19th early 20th century)found in Avignon, these heavy saltglazed hand thrown ale large stoneware bottle were used across French country taverns and households. They safely stored liquids like wine, cider, oil or regional spirits - salt glazed finished in the earthy warm caramel tone, the big thick lip on these would of had a cork or a ceramic stopper wrapped in clothe, tied with/string.

Authentic French Kitchenalia ,Gilt brass over copper large kitchen cooking set, slotted spoon, scoop, spoon markers stamp-traditionally us in French estates, and standard fixtures next to grand open fireplaces, or rustic hearths. The LR mark stamped or engraved at the bottom is highly significant, representing the master metalsmith or foundry that hand forged the set.

Black Forest double photo frame wood hand carved -done with the highest skill of craftsmanship. This Brienz, Swiss woodcarving tradition, with textured stippling background behind the vines is a classic chip carving texturizing technique used by Swiss craftsmen to make the polished leaves and floral details pop, late 19th -early 20th. In the frame are postcards or photos of traditional couples wearing regional alpine clothing.

1800’s Karlsbader Mineralwasser flask, known, minoring 1860’s earthenware bottle, does have broken handle but just adds to its authenticity and age . This is a region in Western Germany where there are famous thermal springs of Bad Ems are located. During the 1800’s millions of these bottles were filled with therapeutic, naturally carbonated spring waters.

Authentic French country (Campagne) wall hook, hand crafted in a regional French workshop in the early to mid 20th century. Has a beautiful scalloped, wave edge and is a solid oak, the hooks are solid brass or bronze (I believe brass) but are lovely rosettes , these were hung at the entrances of French homes to hold keys, coats, hats, leads etc..or even in kitchen for smaller pots, towels , utensils..

Featuring floral large gold gild gesso corners ornate corner accents with continous decorative inner molding and a distressed gilt finish reminiscent of the era, square w/wood back mirror, 1850-1890, has early silvered foxing. These pieces emerged during the industrial and cultural boom in France, the wealthy middle class sought to recreate the historic opulence of pre-revolution French royalty, sparking a massive revival of the 18th century, baroque and Rococo styles. This particular style called the Trumeau & Cheval -large rectangular gilded frames were designed to be placed directly above fireplace mantels/chemises or mounted on the marrow walls between large windows.(comps up to 850)to replace the back or glass even with foxing would depreciate this piece in half.. These share a deep tradition and functional traits with the neighboring French harvest baskets, with the flared hexagonal shape, distinctive angular opening at the top that funnels down tightly at the base. the integrated , flat woven textile and macrame straps at the back that were built to secure the harvest upon the back of the harvester, as they navigated steep alpine mountain terraces.

It has all its bits and pieces still in great shape.. This 1890's large Edwardian era antique oak or walnut wood coal Purdonium (hot box-to contain fuel and a small brass handle for opening plus a back one to carry around. metal liner) storage w/hinged door top copper/brass handle and back handle for scoop storage for the matching brass shovel, also door knob. These were originally kept right next to a fireplace or stove to hold lumps of coal, keeping the fuel tidy and hidden from view. Hand made w/full tin insert and large original brass scoop wood handle. Today homeowners use them to store fireplace kindling, blankets, dog toy or food, etc. Also bought in Central Europe, these were of English, Scottish or French descent, my lean is England..but no markings I found..comps for a fully in tact piece, 500-1000

Original oil on board Mediterrenean village scene intialed (FR)Francesco Rossini, in a solid wood frame deep set. Post impressionist mid century, Italian lakes regions, either Lake Como or Lago Maggior. The impressionistic style, utilizes textured brushstrokes to capture the shifting light on the water and the dramatic overcast sky. I found at least three listed possible artists for this piece, so after searching the signature, style and size of this piece , the winner is Francesco Rossini. Rossini was a highly prolific Italian painted who specialized almost exclusively in romanticized lake views of Como and Maggiore area.

Chateau de pau france, known as the birthplace of King Henry IV in 1553,located in tyhe Pyrenees-atlantiques region, this style, Dourrat was a master of the multi-plate color aquatint/etching process.Castle landscape, engraving hand colored aquarelle/signed George Dourrat, in solid wood hand carved frame with texture and under glass. George specialized in fine architectural etching, capturing historic monuments, Cathederals and Castles across France. This stunning piece beautifully shows his signature style; soft, painterly colors in the foliage and sky contrasted against precise, architectural needle lines on the castle towers, with its detailed architectural rendering and soft layered washes in the foliage is typical of late 19th century or early 20th french regional school-the pencil signature in the bottom right is his personal guarantee that he supervised or pulled this specific impression from the metal plate.

This piece depicts, looking down the Kesslergasse onto the Berner Munster Cathederal and its striking spire framed-with its great vertical shape-Nicola Markovitch(who signed his pseudonym Marc), a Serbian French architect, published in 1920's-30's professionally framed in Paris.

Germany art deco ceramic drip glaze art pottery urn shape vessel, (green/yellow/rust/cream) featuring a distinct multi color glaze drip effect. These vibrant colors were achieved specifically by mixing copper greens, warm manganese browns and antimony yellows. Master potters regularly utilized thick, flowing glossy glazes that created abstract layered patterns when fired, mirroring the rich color melting seen in this piece.
